AAS Modeling Collection - Virtual Instrument Software
The AAS Modeling Collection includes six incredible virtual instruments in one convenient music software package—Tasman 4 Sound Synthesis Studio, Lounge Lizard EP-3 Electric Piano, Ultra Analog VA-1 Analog Synthesizer, String Studio VS-1 String Modeling Synthesizer, Strum Acoustic GS-1 Acoustic Guitar, Strum Electric Guitar GS-1 Electric Guitar. Load up your computer with this diverse set and see which direction they get your creative juices flowing.

String Studio VS-1
The Applied Acoustics Systems (AAS) String Studio String Modeling Synthesizer trades in the traditional oscillator, filter, and envelope pattern for real-life string instrument components. A cutting-edge string model interacting with picks, bows, hammers, fingers, frets, dampers, and soundboards is at the heart of String Studio. Through this direct approach, the String Studio sample library delivers stunning guitars, basses, harps, clavinets, bowed instruments, and percussion, as well as rich and animated tones that blend the warmth, naturalness, and density of real life with unique and innovative timbres from yet unheard instruments.

The Unmistakable Feeling of Playing a Real Stringed Instrument
Instead of relying on samples and wavetables, String Studio virtual instrument generates sound on the fly using an accurate model of the components and interactions involved in stringed instruments. This elaborate synthesis engine responds dynamically depending on your performance and how it is already vibrating, producing sound that is always unique to the moment. As a result of its nature, the virtual stringed instrument in the String Studio collection captures the richness and diversity of acoustic textures and reproduces the quirks, subtleties, and responsiveness of real instruments. This is the key to providing you with vibrant sound as well as the presence and expressivity of a real instrument.

Physical Ergonomics
The String Studio interface is conveniently laid out around components of a stringed instrument and the controls are directly related to their physical properties. With just a limited number of intuitive parameters, String Studio procures a remarkable range of sounds. Explore the extensive sample collection of warm and organic sounds included with String Studio or tweak and create exquisite textures simply not possible with other synthesizers.

Live Extras
Finally, the String Studio virtual instrument offers premium performance features, including keyboard modes, portamento, vibrato, and legato functions, as well as a programmable pattern arpeggiator. For optimal controller integration, the music software features a complete set of MIDI features; easy-to-use MIDI Learn function for user-defined MIDI maps, min/max parameter range settings, MIDI program change and automation. A high-quality effect rack, featuring distortion, chorus, delay, and reverb completes the package.

Ultra Analog Virtual Analog SynthThe Applied Acoustic Systems Ultra Analog Virtual Analog Synthesizer is a 32-voice polyphonic virtual analog synth entirely based on physical modeling for outstanding sound quality. At the heart of Ultra Analog are the best alias-free oscillators in the industry, featuring standard wave shapes, hard sync, sub oscillators, and integrated pitch envelopes for impressive evolving and dynamic analog tone. 2 ballsy multimode filters with multiple drive and distortion options are then applied to give the sound its bold personality. Finally, 2 syncable comprehensive LFOs, 4 loopable velocity-sensitive ADSR envelopes generators, and a separate vibrato function provide carefully chosen modulation options.

Make Music Happen
The superb preset sample library provides a fantastic journey through all the colors of the analog spectrum. Ultra Analog is highly efficient; just find the sound you want fast and tweak it to perfection with the integrated categorized browser and ergonomic interface. What's more, the browser enables complete freedom over the organization of your preset library; categorize by songs, styles, events, etc. Whether it's for day-to-day synth work, or particular sound design tasks, Ultra Analog will deliver the entire analog sonic range with every control at your fingertips wherever and whenever your creative outbursts demand it.

Live in the Studio or Live on Stage
Ultra Analog is packed with premium performance features, including keyboard modes, portamento, and legato functions. And to help you follow your groove, Ultra Analog is equipped with a complete set of MIDI features: an easy-to-use MIDI Learn function for user-defined MIDI maps, min/max parameter range settings, MIDI program change and automation. And for even more action, Ultra Analog provides a user-programmable pattern arpeggiator and high-quality master effects featuring chorus, delay, and reverb.

Lounge Lizard EP-3 Electric Piano
The Applied Acoustics Systems (AAS) Lounge Lizard EP-3 electric piano delivers the authentic tone of the original classic Rhodes and Wurlitzer electric pianos while preserving their action and feel. Using their award-winning physical modeling technology, AAS takes one of the most impressive and unanimously acclaimed software to another level.

What's New in Lounge Lizard EP-3
•Presets: The new modeling sample library fully exploits the refinements and covers all your electric piano needs
•Effects: The high-end effects section has been extended with tremolo, wah, chorus, phaser, delay, reverb, and EQ
•Pickup model: 2 pickup types are now available for a wider character range: electromagnetic (Rhodes) and electrostatic (Wurlitzer). In addition, scaling has been added for even volume across the entire keyboard
•Fork model: The new and improved Fork model adds upper harmonic content for an even more authentic sound
•Damper model: The improved Damper now closely interacts with the Fork and provides superb dynamic response
•Audio Recorder: The integrated Audio Recorder captures inspired moments on the fly
•Micro-Tuning: Custom tunings are now possible with the added support for Scala files.

Presets and Effects
Lounge Lizard comes with an extensive preset sample library that is simply inspiring, giving you access to the Rhodes and Wurlitzer sounds popularized by musical legends like Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, and George Duke. There is a choice of pure and true tones as well as a selection of processed ones courtesy of the high-end effects section.

The effects section includes the classic tremolo, chorus, wah, and phaser effects as well as EQ, delay, and reverb. These effects are specially designed for the electric piano, making it very easy to create your own distinctive custom tones.

EP Character and Beyond
The original Rhodes pianos provided timbre and volume adjustments by letting you position the tines in relation to the pickups. These adjustments were at the heart of the electric piano's character as they controlled the harmonic content, attack, and decay of the sound, offering unique tone to each player. But there was a price for this flexibility. Several painstaking hours with a screwdriver and incredible patience was needed to change the sound of an electric piano.
Suffer no more! With Lounge Lizard, the preset library provides a selection of thoroughly chosen Tine/Pickup configurations. You also have the ability to make those adjustments in real time via 2 simple controls: distance and symmetry.

It doesn't end there. Because controls are provided for the various electromechanical components, Lounge Lizard can be pushed far beyond hardware equivalents, opening up a completely new realm of sonic possibilities!

What's more, since the interaction between the tine and pickup is quite unique, its effect can't be obtained with the filtering provided by samplers. This limits sampled solutions to one or 2 fixed configurations and brings physical modeling to the forefront of the electric piano recreation.

Modeling an Electric Piano: How it works
The electric piano was invented by Harold Rhodes (1910-2000) during the forties when he was in the army. The first instruments he built were made of aircraft pieces and were intended to entertain army servicemen. It became a very popular instrument in jazz and rock, and has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years through its extensive use by the world's top hip-hop, R&B, and house producers.

The mechanism of the electric piano is, in fact, quite simple. A note played on the keyboard activates a hammer that hits a fork. The sound of that fork is then amplified by a magnetic coil pickup and sent to the output, very much like an electric guitar.

Tassman 4 Sound Synthesis Studio
The Applied Acoustics Systems Tassman 4 Sound Synthesis Studio gives you virtually endless creative possibilities in an intuitive environment whether you're a newbie or a seasoned professional. From unrivaled recreations of analog and acoustic instruments to wildly adventurous cinematic textures, the Tassman puts the shape of sound design in your hands. Far from being an emulation of any one vintage synthesizer, the Tassman is an ever-expanding collection of instruments and sound design tools sure to provide inspiration for virtually any project.

Inspiration on Demand: Synths and Presets
The Tassman 4 provides you with a collection of 50 pre-patched instruments, and over 1000 presets right out of the box. You'll find all the classic analog and FM instrument emulations you'd expect in a modular synthesis solution, staggeringly realistic acoustic instruments including various drums and chromatic percussion, string instruments of all shapes and sizes, an electric piano, tonewheel and pipe based organs, and more, complete with the nuances and subtleties that would be simply unattainable with a sample based solution. Add to this virtual instruments that allow you to import your own samples and use them as you would any of the other tone generators, and unique hybrid constructions that combine these various elements, and the possibilities are truly endless.

New in Version 4
•Output Stage
The Output Stage includes sync-to-host capability, tempo synced ping-pong delay, first-class reverbs, and an audio recorder. While providing instant control over the playback and recording of your performances, the Output Stage also adds depth, warmth, and dimension to any synth.
•Performance Mode
Performances provide instant access to your sounds by combining a synth, a preset, effects and MIDI maps. For quick and easy access, you can organize performances by style, by type, or even by venues.
•Expanded Sample Library
A fantastic sound collection of synthesizers and effects created by top sound designers from ILIO and AAS. Their focus has been on the creation of highly usable sounds for musicians and studio professionals that exploit the unique architecture of Tassman.

•Improved Algorithms
Improved acoustic objects and generators that sound better than ever.

The AAS Strum Acoustic GS-1 is an acoustic guitar software synthesizer that serves music producers and composers who need acoustic guitar tracks but don't want to wait or pay for an actual guitarist's services. Based on the latest AAS (Applied Acoustics Systems) physical modeling technology, Strum GS-1 ships with an impressive collection of steel and nylon string acoustic guitar models.

AAS Strum Acoustic GS-1 guitar synth includes an elaborate voicing module that automatically voices chords played on a keyboard as a guitar player would on a fretboard. Strumming and picking actions are reproduced by an auto-strum function, special strumming keys, or MIDI loops. An EQ, a multi-effect, and a reverb module complete the Strum GS-1 package. AAS Strum Acoustic GS-1 allows you not only to find the right sound but also to easily and efficiently synthesize a wide range of left- and right-hand playing techniques, all via your keyboard.

Strum Electric GS-1
Can't learn the guitar in time for your deadline. Your favorite session player is out of town. Romplers are not quite there. Strum is the just-right solution.

Rock with power chords
Strum Electric's chord library contains basic and extended chords available in open, movable, drop voicings, or power chords. Play the chords you know and Strum Electric voices them as a guitarist would.

Gig-ready
A great collection of single coil- and humbucker-fitted classic guitars, a 2-channel amp with spring reverb, a speaker cabinet, and effects, are all prepped in a ready-made preset library.

Strum on your keyboard
Down- and up-strokes, slides and bends, hammer-ons and pull-offs, palm muting, muffled strings, and arpeggios are all part of Strum Electric's playing technique vocabulary. Performing them is simply a matter of using the strumming keys or MIDI loops.

Synthesizer
Play the different guitars from the factory library as they are or make slight adjustments to perfectly fit your style. Control the main parameters from the general view or make macro adjustments string by string.

Amp & FX
Sculpt your tone with the 2-channel amp, spring reverb, speaker cabinet, and effects.

Performance
The performance section is where you control the type of voicing used by Strum, the playing position on the neck of the guitar, the strumming speed and how Strum reacts to standard MIDI controllers. It is also where Strum shows you the voicing it is using.

Simple Preset Customization
The Strum Electric GS-1 gives you seven simple tweaks to customize a preset:
•Switch to the Bridge pickup for a brighter tone
•Switch to channel 2 for distortion
•Increase Position or decrease Edge for a softer tone
•Increase Tone for a more sustained metallic sound
