This particular series of marimbas are constructed of carefully selected Honduras. The bars are rosewood and are finished with a specially developed lacquer, a combination that insures optimum sound, projection, and sustain. Featured on this piece is the patented voyager frame system which allows effortless adjustment to a wide range of playing heights. The resonators are welded rather than riveted, giving maximum strength and isolation from mechanical notes.
This piece is a 4.3 Octave marimba that is tuned through the sixth overtone to offer complete control over all aspects of the marimba sound. The tuning and voicing are precise and provide for balanced sound through the entire range of the instrument. The resonators are carefully designed to amplify the fundamental note and give maximum sustain, volume, and clarity. Furthermore, the resonators below A2 feature an individual fine tuning that allow for adjustment in cases of change in humidity or temperature. An industry standard, this marimba is tuned, A=442Hz.
