This is a product that is essential to all trombonists, whether they are a student, looking to get their first pro-horn, or if they're like me, and are like me and are trying to keep their trombone to last a few more years so we don't have to buy another before we die. This contained all the essentials of a good trombone maintenance kit, and even came with the added bonus of the mouth piece protector, which is good for you musicians who have invested in their Bach gold mouth pieces, but being 71 it can be a bit of a hassle to get the mouth piece in and out, though surely no problem for you younger kids. The grease and oil can also be used for other brass instruments, if you happen to play more than one. I'd rate this with 4.5 stars, but them not giving me the option I chose 4 because of the mouth piece holder.

The kit is a good one. Everything is good except for the slide oil, it feels like putting glue on my horn. Good starter kit though you need to get some other oil instead of this stuff.

I purchased this kit with a new trombone. My previous supplies had transferred to my friend when I gave him my old trombone so I was in effect starting fresh.
This kit includes:
storage bag - while the storage bag is a nice touch, it is pretty much useless since cases have storage pockets anyway
mouthpiece brush - pretty standard item, works as designed
snake - decent snake, works as well as any other superslick oil - a very, very small bottle of this oil. Perhaps in larger quantities it would be more useful however I was not impressed with the way it lubricated the slide in combination with the slide oil.
slide oil - a poor way for lubricating the slide. I tried this oil on the slide and probably ended up using half the bottle and still had some issues with poor slide action. I thought that it might be the bone so I went and bought some trombontine and greased it up properly. The slide action improved significantly.
tuning slide grease - average grease, not the best but it works.
mouthpiece case - a nice case for your mouthpiece, actually a good thing to have if you have multiple mouthpieces and don't want them banging around.
Overall if you are looking for good cleaning starting kit, this isn't too bad. However you will need to get some decent slide cream (Superslick Cream or Trombontine) and a spray bottle.
