I was pleased with the overall appearance of the Amati. The mouthpiece looked very good, However, I was used to a simpler horn mouthpiece, and I replaced the supplied mouthpiece with my own. I used a sound analyzer to test the resonances of the Amati and found that it was nicely resonant on the higher G and the D, but the lowest note of G was almost obtainable, there being no resonance in this area. The nearest resonance was F sharp.
