I purchased this clarinet and I can honestly say it's very good, indeed. I have a double set of Selmer Paris Signature clarinets (Bb and A). I wanted a cheaper one to use in rehearsals and in other events in which I didn't want to use my Selmers. This clarinet is a very nice one. It has solid construction and good intonation (The high C above the staff is slightly sharp, but most clarinets are - and it could probably be fixed with a slightly longer barrel). It has nice key action with a good, solid tone. I was fairly surprised going from a $5,000 instrument to a $500 one. However, I can honestly say this performs nearly as well, as my two more expensive clarinets. The forked Bb on the upper joint takes time to get used to, since your ring finger isn't being used on a tonehole (and sometimes my finger slides off). On the other hand, I really like this clarinet, a lot. Amati Kraslice may have had some quality control issues in the past, but now they have really cleaned up their act! I award five stars to the Amati ACL314!
This is a marvelous clarinet and I'm enjoying playing it very much. I am amazed at it's quality at such an affordable price.
