I was concerned when I bought this that it would not be as fat and warm as my SVT2PRO all tube unit. I took it to a rehearsal and plugged into an old Kustom 2x15 cab that I had used with a Kustom head a couple of years ago. I recalled that with the old Kustom head the sound was fragile and thin. Not so with the SVT3PRO driving those 15s! Fat, warm and classic Ampeg tone! That weekend I ran it into a Warwick 1x12 cab and had much the same results. Then last night into an Avatar 4x10 in a loud rock band. Turn up the mids and highs, and fatness morphs into cutting Ampeg grit. Oh yeah... My only knock is that the pots have those wimpy plastic shafts and the knobs feel pretty flimsy as a result. Should not be an issue in the rack as the knobs are set back far enough to prevent damage.
