Asymmetric 544 3C+ Trumpet MouthpieceThe Asymmetric 544 is a 3C+ trumpet mouthpiece. The 544 trumpet mouthpiece design produces a little brighter sound than other orchestral mouthpieces without losing it's versatility. The plus means easier high-register, more endurance and several additional semitones of high range. Like the other Asymmetric mouthpieces, the throat is open (.150") for a bigger sound, but not to the point of adversely affecting endurance or intonation. Additionally, the cup and backbore have been balanced. This is a trumpet mouthpiece of choice for all-around applications.

This is, without a doubt, the best mouthpiece I've ever owned. Not only does it increase my range, but it improves my tone and makes it way easier to just play in general. With it I have a much higher range, and much more endurance. It doesn't even feel that different. I used to use a 7c Gardinelli High Density mouthpiece, and playing this actually feels better to me.
Playing on this mouthpiece is a unique experience. Been using a Stork and prior, a Shilke 14A4A. The Asymmetric affords me greater range. Can hit the high notes with ease in comparison to a "standard" mouthpiece. However, in getting the advantage of higher notes, the tone quality is much better on the Stork. This mouthpiece give a much softer tone and would be good either in an orchestra or quiet grouping, but not, in my opinion, in a concert, marching, or swing band environment.
This is a relatively fine mouthpiece. I've been playing trumpet for about five years now. If you aren't used to a mouthpiece like this, it can be a tad difficult to adjust. I use a standard Bach 3C. Secondly, the mouthpiece may improve range, but it decreases the tone quality. In my opinion, if you want to have good tone quality, keep to a standard mouthpiece. If you want range, you can just work to improve your range or use this.
I enjoyed this mouthpiece because of the playability and most definitely for the range it allows which is AMAZING!!!
