The ADX10-FLP Miniature Electret Condenser is a high-performance professional condenser with a mount custom designed for attaching to the head joint on a flute. With a smooth uniform response over a frequency range of 40-20kHz, it offers a warm, rich sound not typical of microphones this size.Designed for durability and simple installation, it is machined from solid brass and has Audix's E-coat finish for low-noise handling. The ADX10-FLP operates on phantom power of 9-52V with the included APS-910 preamp module. It can also be used in battery mode with an optional power supply or easily be adapted to a wireless system. It comes complete with flute mount and phantom power adapter. |

I bought an Audix ADX10-FL flute mic when the product came out in March 2005 and I've used it maybe a dozen times since.. I like the design of
the mic. It is small, lightweight and the gain before feedback is fantastic. The sound is very good for a mic of its type, clear and warm,
a combination that is rather uncommon. I go through the preamp into the PA and with a touch of reverb the sound is lovely. I like the way the
clip attaches to the flute headjoint, it can't damage the flute (as is common with other flute mics) and it's held firmly in place. The Audix
flute mic came with a condenser preamp. It is a small box (heavy, though) with a belt clip. It is also made by Audix and is model APS-911. It operates on a single AA battery which lasts many, many days. The preamp has a mini-XLR in and an XLR out. I was happy to get the preamp module as part of the package as some of the sales material suggested it was optional. The only low points are the key or touch noise (not noticeable in actual performance with other instruments, in my
experience) and the windscreen that detaches from the mic too easily. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with my Audix ADX10-FL.
