Comments about Aulos 3-Piece Alto Recorder:

This is a unique instrument. Aulos says that this instrument is only meant for school instruction, but that is not doing it justice. This instrument is capable of so much more. It plays so easily, and feels great under the fingers. This is my third Aulos recorder, and my second Aulos alto. I have the 309 alto, and this alto blows it away. The 309 alto has a harsher sound. The 209 has a pure sound, and also blows a lot better. There is almost no resistance, and you can push the instrument far past what other recorders can do. This instrument can even hold its own against the Yamaha 312 alto I have. This instrument lends itself to performance in ensembles or with other instruments whereas the Yamaha 312 has a more soloistic sound, probably best as a solo instrument.
