The New York City Model trumpet was designed to provide musicians with a rich, full-bodied sound. New York City has always been a melting pot of culture. Here many working musician find themselves in a position where versatility is paramount to making a living. One night you may be sitting in a salsa band, another night you may be subbing for a Broadway musical. Another night, they may find themselves playing a session with straight ahead jazz musicians. BAC's NYC trumpets are specifically designed to do everything well.
The horn is a heavy build which allows for superb energy transfer. This gives a musician the ability to really fill a room with a powerful sound when they need, while still being able to play with a polished sound on soft, subtle tones. The gold brass bell and leadpipe help provide a rich, complex sound with lots of overtones. On the lacquered NYC Trumpet, the specially formulated thin lacquer provides an option to facilitate the responsive and vibrant characteristics of an unlacquered instrument while still serving as protection for the attractive aesthetics. The NYCS (Silver Plated Option - and more traditional look for a pro horn) provides a similar feel, however may be described as slightly brighter.
