Bach 180S37 Stradivarius Series Bb TrumpetThe Bach Stradivarius 180S37 Silver Professional Bb Trumpet offers depth and color of sound, coupled with the even intonation and response a professional player needs. Good for all-around playing, this Bach 180 Strad Pro Trumpet features a standard weight body and #37 bell, plus a standard construction #25 mouthpipe in silver finish. The most popular Bach Stradivarius trumpet available today is the 180S37 with a yellow brass bell. This trumpet is also available with a 1st valve trigger (180S37T) or 1st and 3rd valve triggers (180S37W55), or with a gold brass bell (180S37G). The Bach 180S37 Stradivarius Series Silver Professional Bb Trumpet includes a case and mouthpiece. The 180S-37 features a #37 bell with a medium-fast taper to produce a sound that has a brilliant sound with a warm quality that allows this instrument to work well in multiple musical settings—from jazz to concert or solo playing. The #25 leadpipe allows for slight resistance that is effective in centering tone production. These features combined with a .459-inch medium-large bore allow the player to produce a well-rounded sound while not over-extending the endurance level of the player. The Monel valve material allows the pistons to be machined to a consistent diameter throughout the entire length of the valve to produce a more efficient "seal" between the piston and the interior wall of the valve casing. The result is less air leakage that could cause performance problems.

I've played at least ten different trumpets, I've played three different French horns, and two different mellophones. This is, by far, the best instrument I've ever played. It's so comfortable, the airflow isn't constricted, its heavy-duty receiver helps stabilize the tone, and it's just an all-around wonderful instrument. To anyone and everyone that can afford it... get it. It's (In my opinion) one of the best instruments ever made.
I love my Bach Strad. I?ve had it for around 4 years now. This horn has lovely tone quality and fantastic range. It is great!! I am in high school and think this trumpet is perfect for everything I?ve done so far. It holds up phenomenally and I would recommend it to anyone wishing to purchase a trumpet.
I have been playing trumpet since the 7th grade. I am now considered of legal retirement age, so have been playling for quite some time. I have owned about four trumpets (each one a different brand) but have tried out many other brands over the years. I have read some reviews which say that the Bach Strads are "inconsistent" and that the "quality" is not what it used to be. Based on my own Model 180S37, I would strongly disagree. This horn is the easiest one for me to play and I do sound better playing it than any other horn I have ever used at any price.
I give it five stars in every possible category and would recommend it highly. As with any instrument, you want to play one first. If you do, you will see what I mean.
I have been playing on a Bach 180s37 Stradivarius trumpet since my freshmen year of high school. This horn survived four intense years of high school marching band, jazz band, concert band, and pit orchestra. I am now a freshmen trumpet player in the Purdue University "All-American" Marching Band, as well as one of Purdue's Jazz Bands. My bach strad still performs as well as the first day I oiled it's valves. The bach strad can deliver a wall of sound from the middle of Ross-Ade Stadium, to a thick, lush sound in Orchestra. I NEVER have problems with "sticky valves" or slides. Whenever I go in for a music audition, I always know that my bach strad will be as responsive and melodious as I want it to be. Kinda pricey, but you get what you pay for!
got this Trumpet about 4 years ago, a few years after I had started, and it has been nothing but great. A few other guys have Xenos, and seem to think they are better, but I find this trumpet to have better sound, intonation, and just a better trumpet. I had to get a different trumpet to march with because my director told me that it wouldn?t be good to march with such a good trumpet, so I got a less expensive Barrington. I have to say, the Bach has spoiled me so after one note on the Barrington I wanted nothing better then to get my Strad back out.
This is the standard for great trumpets. Crystal clear, beautiful voice is a pleasure to play.
If you are serious about playing the trumpet, then this is the horn to buy. I have been playing since I was 11 years old, and now I am a 3rd-year Music Education major. This is the model that everyone in my trumpet studio is required to own. The sound is excellent in low, middle, and high registers. When it is played correctly, the tone is open and pure - the kind of tone every trumpet player should have. If you are looking for a horn to use for the rest of your life, whether it be for a hobby or a career, this is the one for you.
I've had my Model 37 Strad. for about 10 years now, and I can't give it enough praise. Wonderful sound, great quality, easy playing in the high register, and quick valve response are what I now expect from every high-level trumpet. The Strad. is definitely one of the best purchases I have ever made. I expect many more years of use out of my baby, and I cannot wait to play it again!
Although they have made some of the parts cheaper and less sturdy than the older ones, this is still the industry standard and the quality control is pretty consistent (although a pro would still test multiple ones to get the very best sound). To be honest though, I have tested some Yamahas that play just as well and cost a bit less. Still, the 37ML will do what most players need it to do.
There are a lot of great trumpets out there but when it comes right down to it-- the 37 bell ML Bach Strad. is hard to beat. After decades this is still the trumpet to which everything else is compared. My new post-strike Bach plays great and the workmanship is as good or better than ever. There is just something about the 37 bell that no other maker has been able to duplicate and goodness knows many have tried. Some trumpets may play brighter or darker or hit the high notes a little easier but this is still the trumpet to have. I've owned and played any number trumpets including the most expensive "boutique" trumpets and many of them have been great trumpets, don't get me wrong-- but I've always gone back to the ML bore 37 yellow brass Bach Strad!
