I have played Bach trombones off and on for many years. I also have played Yamaha, Getzen, and Edwards trombones. I prefer the large .547 bore for most of my playing, and the Bach 42TO, which I've played now for 3 years, is the smoothest playing of all the horns I've had. I would recommend this model to anyone who is serious about their music. It is a very good playing horn.

This trombone is easily one the best I have played in my 8 years of playing... it is very free-blowing, yet has enough resistance to keep it from feeling like you are blowing into a black-hole. The thayer valve is definitely a great improvement over the traditional valves other bach horns come with. The slide is smooth as glass, and the large bell gives great projection. I recommend for Pro's and serious students alike.

"Free Blowing Horn with a Great Sound!"

I have been playing a Conn 88H/O since high school, but I finally decided to try some other horns. The Bach LT42TG came out on top. For me, it played much easier than my Conn ever did. It has a much more open feel, and it really comes through in the sound. My articulation is clearer and my tone is much more focused. I would definitely recommend trying many different horns before making a decision, but make sure you give the Bach 42T a shot!

Ever since I started playing my directors and private teachers have told me that I had too much air to play on a small bore horn and I frequently out played my equipment but since I have got this horn my playing ability and tone have greatly improved.
