I purchased this Bass Trumpet in September of 2009. I play it in a Nine Trumpet Ensemble of players over age 50. The instrument is much better than I expected regarding ease of playing and intonation, a common concern for the Bass Trumpet. I am pleased with my Bach B188. It has added to my enjoyment of retirement. The negative report would be the case. I also play an expensive Euphonium, a Tuba and a Trombone, I have owned for years. They are dent free. Within a week I had dents in the Bach B188 because the case automatically tips and the instrument falls out. Never open the case without a hand on the trumpet. WWBW recognized the problem and tried to find me an after-market case at their expense. They could not find one and I had to purchase a case from a case manufacturer for an additional $200. Be prepared to do the same. The factory case is an engineering disaster. I also had to pay for dent removal. Conn-Selmer, the manufacturer, would not even answer my letters. I sent several. They are not interested in customer service so beware you are on your own.
