OVERVIEW

Vintage Design!

The Bach LT180S77 Stradivarius New York #7 Series Bb Trumpet is the replacement for the popular limited edition 197 Stradivarius. This series features the same classic #7 taper lightweight bell, combined with a #7 standard construction leadpipe. The LT180S77 also features the classic 1930's-style mouthpiece receiver and French-bead flat rim bell design. The Bach LT180S77 Stradivarius New York #7 Series Bb Trumpet includes a case and mouthpiece and is available in silver (LT180S77) finish.

The Bach #7 bell, developed by Vincent Bach during the 1920's, first appeared in 1929. This bell is constructed in one piece from lightweight yellow brass, with the current version featuring a classic French-bead flat rim. The instrument also features a .462" bore, #7 leadpipe, vintage '30's style mouthpiece receiver, first and third slide finger rings, single brace tuning slide, and third slide stop assembly.
Historically speaking
Historical records show that the first production instrument with a #7 bell was a Stradivarius trumpet (#1249) made February 26, 1929. A few horns with earlier serial numbers were also retrofitted with the #7 bell. Regular production of the #7 bell started in January 1930. Many influential players
Examination of shop cards for these instruments show that influential players of the day purchased these instruments, including Merle Evans (on a cornet), George Mager, Leona May Smith, Dr. Charles Colin, Henry Busse, and the Juilliard Graduate School (all trumpets).

Outstanding

Comments about Bach LT18077 Stradivarius New York #7 Series Bb Trumpet:

I bought this trumpet when it was first out back in December of 2005; my serial number is 0029! As I understand it, this was to be only a limited production run. Mine has gold plated slides and decorative valve caps. I guess the response was so good that Bach decided to keep making it with a slightly different name. By any standard-response, projection, core of sound, overtone spectrum, intonation-this is a great horn. It is worthy of a try-out to see if it is a fit for you.

Comments about Bach LT18077 Stradivarius New York #7 Series Bb Trumpet:

Previously played Model 25 Large Bore. This new large bore trumpet with LT bell and slides is likewise free blowing, very responsive, easy high register. I ordered it from WWBW just to try it out, but had to keep it and use it for everything. Beautifully constructed and well designed.
