Bach Megatone Large Shank Trombone Mouthpiece in GoldMegatone large shank trombone mouthpiece in gold plate. Megatone Trombone Mouthpieces Offer Something Better To create the Megatone, Selmer started with genuine Vincent Bach mouthpiece designs, then more than doubled the outside mass. This darkens the sound and allows you to play at a higher dynamic level without distortion. Megatone slots extremely well so pitches center dependably. A slightly larger throat affords less resistance and greater flexibility. The result is a warmer, more powerful sound that's perfect in the concert hall and adds a new dimension to pop and jazz playing.Insist on a Genuine Bach Mouthpiece Bach mouthpieces are designed to meet every conceivable playing need and have for nearly three quarters of a century. A Bach mouthpiece will make a poor instrument play well, a good instrument play better. Volume and excellent intonation, ease of response in the high and low register, rich, uniform timbre throughout the range, and resistance calculated to increase the player's endurance—these characteristics explain why professional artists choose Bach.

I'd been playing on a couple of regular Bach mouthpieces for a few years when my friend got a new set of Schilke for his trombone. He asked me if I wanted to buy his Bach Megatones. He had bought them new and rarely used them. I wasn't sure so I asked if I could try it for a few weeks. The first time it touched my lips A little angel came down and said, "PING! Now you'll sound better!" And I did I noticed a big difference out of both my Trombone and my Euphonium. My t-bone is a 35 year old Bach Stradivarius 36, and my Euphonium is a 60-something King. Both of these horns are nice, but the added tone quality really brought them up to par. I would recommend this to anybody who wants a little edge over the competition. My only complaint was that the plating started to show wear really fast, but that doesn't affect the sound or feel, just the taste. Anybody who's ever had a really worn rim or cup knows what I'm talking about.
Oh,its very good.I used it for my Shires and they are the best partner
I've played on a Blessing 6 1/2 AL mouthpiece for a while now, I'm pretty sure it's dead because it is NOWHERE close to being this great to play as this 5g. It's easier to play, and it's a lot faster to warm up on. Plus its nice looking too haha. But yeah I would definitely recommend.
