This is possibly the best orchestral C trumpet I have played in the past 40 years. It is is bright and really projects when you need it but you can still get a warm sound when you back off a little. The response is quick and the valves are gerat once you break them in. Intonation is as good as any C I have ever played. I found that after a few days of playing it the notes started to lock in place without any alternate fingurings. It took about 10 hours of playing to get the extreme upper range to begin to lock in as it is quite a different feel from my Kanstul C trumpet which I still use in some situations. The low end of the horn is free blowing and has great projection just like the rest of the horn. I have found that it works well in a smaller performing area like a church sanctuary as well as in a large concert hall. This trumpet is worth checking out if you need a C that will help you get that orchestral job done, especially if you find that the Bach Chicago C is just a little to bright for your needs. You owe it to yourself to at least play one of these before buying any other horn.
