This horn has a great sound to it, especially for concert and marching band. I've grown up on the Bach TR300; it's a great starter horn, but the TR200S by far has been a great horn to play on. Although, I do suggest that if you ever get the oppertunity to buy any form of a Bach Stradivarius GO FOR IT! It is hard to beat any type of Bach, especially the amazing sound that a Strad produces.
I got this trumpet in 8th grade and in 9th grade I got a 1 rating at state solo festival with it. I currently play lead trumpet in my high school jazz band, and 2nd trumpet in the mid-kansas jazz band. Of the top 8 trumpets at my school, I am the only one that hasn't switched up to a strad, but I am still above all of them in chairs. I will be upgrading horns very soon because I feel I cannot get any better on it, switching to a larger bore, professional horn.
I would recommend this trumpet to any student with experience it has pro quality for an intermidate price It has amazing tone and plays like a strad but it has a 2 piece bell and different pistons to the strad i have been playing on different trumpets for 6 years and this is the best horn so far.The is the best site to get it from i have been gettin everything i need from here from 4 years and never had a problem.
I played a Bach TR200 from my sophomore year of HS through my first two years of college. I earned superior ratings at state with it, earned college scholarships with it and won a symphony orchestra concerto competition with it. I now play a Bach Strad 197 (which is an incredible horn) but during the important skill building years of my high school and college career, I played this trumpet and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone serious about trumpet who can not afford the Stradivarius. You will not regret it!
