I ordered the BAM Softpack with a new Yanagisawa 992 alto. The case itself is beautiful - sleek, very small, and very light. The top panel is fairly rigid ABS, and the bottom is grippy rubber - this case won't slide around in the overhead compartment. It's most certainly not sturdy enough to check a horn in, and I don't recommend dropping it, either. But for an everyday gigging case it appears very nice. And the super-cushy shoulder strap with locking carabiner attachments rocks. However, my new Yani doesn't fit in the case - the key posts are too high, leaving a 2-inch gap when I try to close it. So, make sure your horn fits before you buy. Also, there isn't much internal storage room - two boxes of reeds and your piece, and that's about it. My Oleg neckstrap didn't even fit.
The only thing this case lacks is some extra storage space, but that is easily offset by how light and attractive the case is. I was able to fit everything I used to carry in my old rectangular ProTec case by putting some accessories into a ProTec neck bag, which stores inside the bell. This case is shipped with Selmer Reference 54 saxes, the only difference between this case and the Selmer one being the name sticker and the color of the top. I know this because I have a Reference case and have been able to compare the two directly. I've seen the Selmer cases for sale for almost twice what WWBW is asking for this case. Save some money, get this one. Keep in mind, it's not a flight case, but the protection this case offers is more than satisfactory for the daily life of a professional musician. I trust this case to protect my Mark VI wherever I go.
