I decided to do a test of a bunch of reeds, and this reed actually gives me some of the best sound, and is more responsive to playing than some of the cane reeds. I would not do a serious concert with it, but for every other form of playing, it's incredible. It's worth it to get one, especially when you run low on cane reeds.

I'm not a saxophone expert, but I really like this reed. Most other players turn their noses up at playing on a fake reed, but oh well. I play for pep band on this reed. It really helps improve the volume. Since quality of tone isn't the first priority (especially when you are the only alto), it really is helpful to have a reed help your improve your volume. I wouldn't recommend it for serious concert playing.
