Beechler Diamond Inlay Alto Saxophone MouthpieceThe Beechler Diamond Inlay Alto Soundpiece mouthpiece provides the variations needed to produce an individual richness and quality of tone. Made of hard rubber. Choice of 3 bores and 6 facings. The Small BoreThe design of this bore enhances the higher frequencies of the instrument. The medium high baffle induces a fast air column which generates a powerful and brilliant sound rich in overtones. The embouchure can be shaped to favor the highs, creating an intense buzzing sound, or shaped to favor the lows, creating a mellow and vibrant sound. The Medium BoreThe design of this bore favors the medium high frequencies of the instrument. The open style baffle induces a medium fast air column which reduces the available power and brilliance giving a subtle flavor to the sound while maintaining an ease of projection. This chamber is suitable for saxophone sections or soloing with a combo. The Large BoreThe design of this bore favors the low to medium high frequencies of the instrument. This style of baffle induces a moderate air speed which lends itself to producing a dark sound suitable for close-miked or classical situations.

I bought several mouthpieces and this mouthpiece is the BEST. I purchased a S6 and i couldn't believe how great it was for its price. Its sound was incredible and every note played beautifully. I recommend you purchasing this mouthpiece if you are looking for something better.
I've been a pretty big fan of Gerald Albright for awhile, and noticed how clear and fluid his phrases in the altissimo were. I noticed he played on one of these, so I decided to try one out. Although I certainly didn't come anywhere close to Gerald's phrasing or tone, I still noticed a small piece of the sound he was getting in my own: lots of power and volume, with just a bit more edge than my Meyer. The upper register is much clearer and easier to incorporate now, especially after buying a Rovner Versa (using the thin plate with the flaps in). If your looking for powerful projection and clearer altissimo, and don't mind a little extra brightness and edge, I would certainly recommend this mouthpiece.
This mpc is an 8m, perfect if you like the big bright sound or the powerful low sub tone. B flat its there no problem. I have played a 7 * Lakey for years but this mpc gives me everything the Lakey has but a little more excitement than metal.
This is one of the brightest sounding rubber mouthpieces I've ever tried. In fact, it's almost just as bright sounding as its metal version. It sounds wonderful, and the price is a deal well beyond any other expensive mouthpieces such as SR technologies, Jody Jazz or a Guardala mouthpiece. It's so cheap yet it's so amazing. I'm still trying to get over how great this mouthpiece works while it being so inexpensive. Might I also point out that several highly popular saxophonists use this mouthpiece whose names are: Gerald Albright, Dave Koz, Kenny G, and many more. I will advise you to look up these musicians and listen to their sound to understand the tone of this mouthpiece before you buy it. But overall, if you?re looking for that kind of sound, this mouthpiece will not disappoint you.
Beechler mouthpieces have been well reviewed by saxophonists and educators for decades. They don't come out with "new and improved" models because they don't have to and unfortunately have not expanded their line to include soprano and baritone saxophone mouthpieces (which one would think, they would do quite well). My first teacher gave me a Beechler alto sax mouthpiece about 30 years ago. I played this model into my twenties (the sound was instrumental-pun intended-getting me accepted into Eastman School of Music). In my twenties I strayed seeking the Sanborn sound. I wanted edgy with projection, something that not only aided in playing altissimo, but promoted it. I played Dukoff, SR Tech, Guardala and ended up with, ironically, a metal beechler. But something was missing (when recording using a metal moutpiece, I produced a thinner, pitchy sound). I was sacrificing sound quality for "shock and awe". Then recently I had an epiphany. I immediately got on wwbw.com and ordered a hard rubber Beechler like I used to play. No one beats their price or customer service and they got it to me in a matter of a few days. When I blew that first note, it was like coming home! It was like I never stopped playing it. Wonderful undertones and harmonics flow from it. Ease in all registers. Altissimo notes jump. Warm but with a welcome bit of edge. Most importantly, it plays in tune in all octaves. Very versatile. Soft ballads to obnoxiously loud, chaotic, edgy fusion. I can not speak highly enough of this wonderful mouthpiece. And by the way, it cost only $75.99 as compared to hundreds of dollars like my other mouthpieces that are collecting dust in a drawer. Anyone want to buy a used, pricy, metal mouthpiece? I am sticking with my Hard Rubber Beechler....Just like Jay from Spyro Gyra...
