Product Description
Behringer
Take the Thunderbird practice amp out for a spin. It works great for small, unplugged gigs and of course is more than ample for bedroom practicing. This portable retro 15 watt amp is ready when you are.
Product Overview and Specifications
The Berhringer Thunderbird BX108 1x8" Bass Combo Amp is a little powerhouse that's ideal for practice and jamming. The Thunderbird bass combo boasts a 15W amp with a bass-reflex cabinet and custom-made 8" speaker. The cool retro design features a burgundy-colored top panel, black covering, and a leather handle. A 3-band EQ lets you shape the tone, and a stereo tape I/O makes it easy to interface the Behringer BX108 amp with your computer's soundcard.

Outstanding Practice or Small Club Amp

You can't beat the tone of this amp or the tone of the guitar player's version the Behringer Firebird gx108. I don't know how Behringer does it, but with only 15 watts and an 8 inch speaker, this amp can produce a tube like vintage tone suitable for all types of music. I have used this amp for bass and guitar (but prefer the gx108 Firebird for guitar), and for home practice volumes, the tone is outstanding. I have used this amp along with a gx108 Firebird fed by a Behringer Reverb Pedal, and it reminds me of a 1950s twin speaker tube amp with spring reverb. Make no mistake, this amp will have some trouble keeping up with a drummer, unless he uses brushes and plays at jazz or acoustic volume levels. But, remember, that's not what this amp was designed for. If you need a small, portable practice amp that doubles as a home studio quality recording amp, look no further. Let's hope Behringer keeps the "birds" (Thunderbird bass and Firebird guitar amps) in their product line for a while. These amps are outstanding for tube like sound quality and could be used by anyone from a beginning student to an accomplished pro who needs a great sounding practice amp. And who doesn't need a great sounding practice amp that can bring out the tonal qualities of your instrument and playing style, but not break the bank? An outstanding piece of work from Behringer which will remain valued by guitarists for years.
