it looks good, it is just as heavy as my regular violin, the fifth string sounds great, but when you connect the violin to the amplifier it makes sssssssssssssssssssss sound that just ruins it!... i bought it to plug it to the computer and make some recordings... not good for that.... It is good for late night practice...
I purchased my 5 string Bel.. last week. I too found a hissing sound when I hooked it directly to the amp, this can be eliminated though. The stings are very close on the 5 string and they are a little high, so playing in the upper positions on the A and D it becomes impossible to avoid the other strings with the bow. The chinrest was too high, but can be removed with a screwdriver. The case was a disappointment. It is built for the normal 4 string violin. My 5 string was flexing in order to fit. So immediate new case. The violin sounds good, and it will be a lot of fun. For a fun, goof off instrument it fits the bill. I plan to play it with a band.
