Love my 2051-2

Comments about Besson BE2051 Prestige Professional Euphonium:

My 2051-2 is nearing 3 years old. It was one of the first horns imported into the US from the German factory, having been manufactured in January of 2007. Workmanship is superb. The superb valve action is in a completrely different category from that of other horns. The trigger works flawlessly. The tone is focused and singing, though lighter than larger horns such as the Besson 2052, York 4052, Sterling Virtuoso, or Mirraphone 5050. Intonation is manageable with the trigger, but would be problematic without. I know every nook and cranny of this horn, practicing daily and performing up to 5 hrs/day this last two summers. I heartily recommend the new BEsson 2051 to anyone wanting a horn that has the classic Besson Imperial/New Standard sound.

5 = horn; 4 = craftsmanship

Comments about Besson BE2051 Prestige Professional Euphonium:

First: this is one of the best horns i've ever played in my entire life!!! NO question, it's a great sound - valves are fantastic - tone is to die for. However, I have had a lot of problems with the little things. The corks all came off soon, the black-pearls in the valve caps are the bane of my existence! 3 our of 4 have fallen off. I was able to put one back on with super glue, the others fell of during gigs or on the go and I lost them.

"It's Still a Besson!!!"

Comments about Besson BE2051 Prestige Professional Euphonium:

I've played on a late 60's era Besson for 40 years before purchasing a Yamaha 642S...a great looking horn but it just didn't fit my tall frame. After a year of struggling I traded it for a Besson 2051. Wow, what a difference! The 2051 is a beautiful horn of German craftsmanship with smoother valves than even the Yamaha and much better intonation than my old Besson. Using a Schilke 5.1 D* Symphony Series mouthpiece it produces the big Besson responsive sound I've been used to. The main tuning slide trigger is extremely smooth and convenient to depress. This is the most amazing horn I have ever played and best of all, without a doubt, it's still a Besson!!!
