I made the mistake of learning to play without a metronome, big mistake, so I bought this. It can go anywhere and it has many useful functions, my favorite is being able to set your own personal rhythm patterns. Definitely important and worth owning.

This metronome is awesome. It does all I need it to do. It has a backlit screen so you can practice on late bus rides back from a competition. It also has a "kick stand" that pops out the back. The soft case it comes with it is a nice touch too. My only complaint is the "power" button sticks out too far. If it bounces around in my bag, it often turns on without me knowing. (Until I hear it of course) It can get pretty loud, and the price is right in my opinion. It won’t do all of the fancy things a db-90 will, but it keeps a beat.

This metronome totally serves its purpose. The beat is very clear, and I love the different subdivisions that I can set it to. I absolutely recommend this metronome for the growing and/or serious musician.
