The Miraphone M5050 Ambassador Series Professional Compensating Euphonium was developed in cooperation with famed euphonium artist Demondre Thurman. This euphonium features a 4 compensating valve design with a traditional 3 Top and 1 Side action valve set. The M5050 features a specially designed heavyweight receiver to focus the sound and a gold brass mouthpipe for better note slotting. The Miraphone M5050 Ambassador Series Compensating Euphonium includes a case and large shank mouthpiece and is available in silver finish in a standard design (M5050) or with a main tuning slide trigger and guard (M5050T).
Variable wall thickness bell for full, rich sound. MB2 mouthpipe provides quick response and excellent intonation. French bell bead rim with low dome wire improves overall projection due to the refined, sharper bell rim edge. Skeletonized valve stem allow for increased flexibility in instrument response and timbre. Narrow brace set is reminiscent of designs from the 1930s, 40s and 50s, helping give the instrument a quicker response and transmit vibrations efficiently. High water key chimney improves resistance characteristics and overall tone.
The Besson BE967 Euphonium has a 12" diameter bell giving excellent projection. A receiver connected by only a brace as opposed to being completely soldered to the bell allows for free vibration and enhanced tone. Its patented spring damper set creates quieter valve action.
