This is one of the two or three finest oboes I have ever owned, including Loree, Loree Royal, Marigaux, Rigoutat, Howarth, Laubin and Yamaha. It is more or less equal to the Loree 125 Year anniversary oboe. The tone is warm and rich. The scale is outstanding, low B and C# are RIGHT THERE, high C# and D are not sharp. High D speaks with perfect ease. E is not sharp in the top register as it is on so many oboes. I congratulate Bulgheroni for making what is likely the finest oboe commercially available today. I laud the Woodwind and Brasswind for selling these fine oboes. If you are contemplating any of the other top level oboes, try a Bulgheroni Opera model as well. You will be very, very happy with it, and with the $1-2000 that you will have left in your pocket!
Great intonation and even scale throughout the range, mellow and rich tone, somewhat subtle, the instrument is not very resistant and can be played blowing very softly, the keywork feels thick and it is different from a loree, i can play the instrument using the same embochure and technique i use on my loree, it felt great to play
