This was my first saxophone when I started playing eight years ago. It has been through multiple years of marching band, and has also been my primary instrument in concert band. This saxophone has held up very well under the stressful marching band conditions, and stays in tune very well compared to other saxophones when there is a drastic temperature change. For around the same price as most other beginner saxophones, this one has a better overall tone, better tuning and is much more durable.
I bought my grandson a Bundy alto when he entered the fifth grade. I had a Selmer. I tried the Bundy before presenting it to him. I gave him the Selmer. The Bundy definitely out-performed my Selmer. Maybe I shouldn't have done it. He dropped the horn and went out for the football team.
I've been using my old Bundy II by Selmer since I started band back in 5th grade. My mother used this same horn throughout high school and was given to me when I started band. It has survived the rigors of marching band and still plays wonderfully despite its obvious age and wear. I use a Selmer C-Star mouthpiece with Vandoren V-12 reeds.
i have various type of saxophone, but this is really awesome...this product makes me crazy in music!they have lot of models, all are very stylish.this one has a better overall tone,it help my band more popular...! most of all the quality of the product is best,in my choice.Cavallaro branded products has great design also!
I bought this sax for my 10-year-old son last summer, to replace the no-name rental instrument he was using, because the price was good, and because of Selmer's reputation (I've played my Mark VI tenor for 40 years). In less than a year, I've had to bring it in for repairs twice, for leaks, bent keys, etc. When it's working, it plays fine, but I wouldn't recommend it for a beginning student, because I've found it much too easily damaged. It's in the shop right now, with a bent low-C rod, a bent side Bb key, and a leaky octave key. I don't think my son is particularly rough with his sax.
