The Model 55 Karl Willhelm cello is meticulously crafted by hand in the German shop tradition from aged spruce and maple under the direction of Bernd Dimbath, Violin Maker in Bubenreuth. Spirit varnish is tastefully shaded in brown with golden highlights. Tone is bright and even throughout the range. Professional set-up (in our shop) includes Kaplan Solutions A,D (medium) and Thomastik Dominant G,C (chromesteel).
Available in 4, 5 or 6 string models, these breathtaking cellos designed by Ned Steinberger are able to produce the delicate and precise tones of its acoustic parent as well as create exciting new sounds through the tone shaping geometry of their innovative Polar pickup system and dual-mode preamp. Uses standard cello strings and scale length. Discreet dot makers on the fingerboard and small brass bump on the back of the neck provide references for accurate intonation. Adjustable tripod stand (included) can be used seated or standing. Headphone jack provided.
