Shorter facing for more compact tone.
The Fobes Cicero Bb clarinet mouthpieces are a nod to one of the great masters of clarinet mouthpiece in the 20th century. The Fobes Cicero mouthpieces are not to be construed as copies, but rather as "made in the style of". The shorter facing produces a beautiful compact quality to the tone. There is also a special treatment of the tip baffle area to lend response and clarity to the sound.

I am using the Cicero 14 on my Selmer signature. This mpc works great. It is even in all registers, good intonation and has that classic "ring" to it.
I really loved this mouth piece right away; it makes my less expensive clarinet sound like I paid a lot more for it. This mouthpiece along with my new Vandoran Ultima ligature makes a world of difference! I would recommend it to anyone looking to make their less expensive clarinet sound like a more expensive one!
Clarinetists are always talking about finding the "holy grail" of mouthpieces. This could be it. I tried out nearly every mouthpiece on the market today. I even tried multiples of the same piece. I fell in love with the Fobes line of mouthpieces. I had a difficult time choosing what one I wanted. They are all good. I even bought a San Fransisco Eb mp. Try it out, Mr. Fobes is truly an artisan. 5 stars is not enough!!!
From the softest pianos to the fullest fortes, this mouthpiece has it all. I first tried my Cicero on a Selmer Centered Tone (recently rehauled) with a Vandoren Optimum ligature. The difference in tone and sound quality from my first mouthpiece (a Selmer C star) was amazing as this mouthpiece simply "opened" my sound, so to speak. Again, worth the hefty price as Fobes is indeed an artist. Each mouthpiece (as told to me by my teacher) is a custom job and thus, makes every purchase as unique as the next! For those looking for possibly a completely new sound, try this one out!
The quality found in all Clarke Fobes' products is amazing. This one in particular offers a dark and very centered professional tone. My intonation has improved considerably and it is very comfortable to play on. The sound I can produce on my R-13 is much more even, and has even more resonance than I thought possible, all in all the money is well worth it.
Though pricey this is a great mouthpiece. I have played on just every Vandorean, Gigliotti, and Woodwind brand mouthpiece and found this mouthpiece superior to them all.
