"The Fobes Cicero Bb clarinet mouthpieces are a nod to one of the great masters of clarinet mouthpiece in the 20th century. The Fobes Cicero clarinet mouthpieces are not to be construed as copies, but rather as ""made in the style of.."". The shorter facing of the Cicero produces a beautiful compact quality to the tone. There is also a special treatment of the tip baffle area to lend response and clarity to the sound. " |

Though pricey this is a great mouthpiece. I have played on just every Vandorean, Gigliotti, and Woodwind brand mouthpiece and found this mouthpiece superior to them all.

From the softest pianos to the fullest fortes, this mouthpiece has it all. I first tried my Cicero on a Selmer Centered Tone (recently rehauled) with a Vandoren Optimum ligature. The difference in tone and sound quality from my first mouthpiece (a Selmer C star) was amazing as this mouthpiece simply "opened" my sound, so to speak.
Again, worth the hefty price as Fobes is indeed an artist. Each mouthpiece (as told to me by my teacher) is a custom job and thus, makes every purchase as unique as the next! For those looking for possibly a completely new sound, try this one out!

I am using the Cicero 14 on my Selmer signature. This mpc works great.
It is even in all registers, good intonation and has that classic "ring" to it.
