Cordoba Fusion Orchestra Pro CD/IN Acoustic-Electric Nylon String Classical GuitarThe Cordoba Fusion Orchestra Pro is the first full body, all solid guitar in the Fusion series. It features a solid Canadian cedar top, solid Indian Rosewood back and sides, a lightweight cedar neck and ebony fingerboard. The multiple ringed rosette is made of 100% natural woods and inlaid by hand, along with the maple and ebony purfling that outlines the soundboard.A light mahogany binding accents the body shape of the Orchestra Pro, which is slightly altered from a traditional nylon string guitar. The most notable characteristics of the Orchestra Pro are the tone and feel. The thinner 1 7/8 inch neck is comfortable for any player, and the radiused fingerboard makes playability quick, comfortable, and easy. The tone is dark and punchy in the basses, with strong, round trebles and balanced mids. The Orchestra Pro comes equipped with a BBand A2.2 pickup (mounted in the sound hole), which has a dual input/single output onboard preamp and HZZLess for low noise/high output. The A2.2 includes the XOM technique with mix control to bring the best of the UST (under saddle transducer) and AST characters together, resulting in a sound that is true to the Fusion Orchestra Pro's unique voice in any performance venue and environment.

I learned to play on a classical guitar (way too many decades ago), and have been looking to add a nylon string to my collection. However, the standard classical guitar hanging in the music store has a 2" wide nut and flat fretboard - per historical specifications. I found it hard to adapt from my Gibson and Martin acoustics without retraining my muscle memory, but wanted the mellow sounds of fingerpicking a nylon vs steel. After some research I ran across the Cordoba Fusion series. The narrower neck and radiused fretboard really do make a difference. My next issue is that I am a solid top, back & sides guy. Hence my reluctance to purchase the Fusions that have been on the market the past couple years. Finally - the Orchestra Pro series. I am lucky to live in the same city as WWBW's retail store, they ordered this guitar for me to try. As soon as we opened the case I was knocked over by the beauty and finish, after the first half dozen notes I knew I had found my next guitar. The setup was a little high for my taste (although probably perfect for the accomplished classical guitarist), but after a 10 minute adjustment by WWBW's in-house tech (Wally is the MAN!) the guitar is a big stick of butter. The craftsmanship is excellent, the sound from the cedar top is both crisp and mellow at the same time...how do they do it? The cedar neck and ebony fretboard are really outstanding. My only complaint is the crappy polyfoam case. Come on Cordoba, this instrument is much too nice to wrap in a glorfied gigbag. Charge the extra c-note and complete the package with a Protege hardshell case. That being said, I must reiterate: I played the $3000+ Taylor NS32s&72s because of the "cross-over" specs. They are dull and lifeless unless amplified, and even then cannot hold a candle to this Cordoba. It isn't about the money either, this is just a much better instrument all around; lightweight, beautiful craftsmanship, stunning finish, incredible sound, and sweet & smooth to play. I can't recommend it highly enough, and I am picky. Just ask the guys at Woodwind.
