OVERVIEW

Rich tone and great sustain!

D.R. Pure Blues Electric Guitar Strings

The Pure Blues series of electric guitar strings pack a punch that players say they are suprised to get out of a vintage string.
In the DR brand tradition of using old style construction to improve modern performance, the Pure Blues series strings are designed with pure nickel wrap wire, round wound upon round cores. While this is a slow, expensive method of string making, it does produce a string acclaimed for increased sustain, vintage tone, and great low tones for playing rhythm to lead. The extra step of winding pure nickel around a round core gives the Pure Blues series strings their great sound that goes wonderfully on any vintage guitar.

Comments about DR Strings PHR11 Pure Blues Nickel Heavy Electric Guitar Strings:

Once while having my strat adjusted at a shop, the tech put some pure blues in 9's on it. That is when I switched to DR strings. These 11's have plenty of thwack for funk and country, and really get gritty with some gain. On the neck they are warm for jazz, and on the bridge they get lanky and spanky. My guitar covers a wide range of music and tones, and these have not yet disappointed me. My Rig: 70's strat natural ash with maple fretboard and coil tapped Seymour Duncan Hot Rails in the bridge, Vintage Rails in the middle, and Cool Rails in the neck, all running through a Peavey TransTube 212 EFX.
