Deep cup. Enormous solid cornet tone for low cornet parts. Sounds like medium bore trombone.

These are short shank mouthpieces from the UK. When used with a North American cornet they do not insert deep enough into the lead pipe and leave a gap in excess of 5/16" - which far exceeds the standard gap of from zero to 3/32 max. Beware.

Don't let other posters discourage you. Yes, this is a short shank cornet mouthpiece. It is essential to use a short shank mouthpiece with a V-shaped cup to achieve the proper "British" sound. I play in brass bands, and most of the players in the groups use Dennis Wick. If you are using a Bach cornet mouthpiece, you might as well be playing a trumpet instead of a cornet. Using the short shank not only produces a better sound, but it also improves intonation on my cornet.
