Heritage series!

The Denis Wick DW3180 Heritage Series Trombone Mouthpiece offers the player a new design of mouthpiece for sensitivity in lower dynamics, but with power at louder volumes. The Wick Heritage Series features high mass at key points on the mouthpiece to provide power to the sound when needed plus an innovative wall thickness for sensitivity and response at softer dynamics. Reminiscent of the mouthpieces from the Hawkes Company in the 1880s, the Heritage Series recaptures the basic principles of these mouthpieces and combines them with modern technology to make them even more effective. The Denis Wick DW3180 Heritage Series Trombone Mouthpieces are available in silver with a gold plated rim and cup interior.

Hands down my favorite trombone mouthpiece

I use the 3AL for my tenor trombone. It is incredibly responsive at soft volumes and very comfortable. I double on the euphonium and use the Dennis Wick SM3. Having nearly matching rims allows me to switch horns with ease.

This is an amazing mouthpiece. Once you warm up on this mouthpiece, which doesn't take long, the tone quality you can produce is dark and warm. If you have tried everything from a 12C to a 5G take it one step further and get the 4B. This mouthpiece has the versatility to let you do two octave jumps while maintaining a good sound. And the high register notes don't just scream out like some mouthpieces. They still sound very warm and controlled. This is the mouthpiece to have. You can obtain that perfect concert trombone sound with this mouthpiece. I highly recommend you give this mouthpiece a try. You won't return it once you play on it. Denis Wick is one of the best this mouthpiece shows why.

I have played on many mouthpieces and this is by far my favorite. I have 3 standard Bach mouthpieces, 6 1/2 AL-4g-1 1/2g... I also have 2 bach megatones... 1g and 5g... and on the Schilke side of things I have a 51d and a 58... to start off with of course I played tenor for about 5 years and for the past 3 I have been a Bass trombonist for the most part so I have played on quite the variety of horns and mouthpieces... with the standard Bach mouthpieces you have a lot of flexibility but my main complaint was the brightness to the sound... it requires a lot of personal work to develop a dark/rich tone on a standard mouthpiece but for the most part they do the job... to compensate for the tone on a standard i went and bought a couple of megatone's which definitely darkened up my sound but had major flaws when it came to flexibility... my theory was that the added mass deadened too much of the vibration coming from your embouchure which required me to have extremely accurate partials... so I went for the Schilke's which had a deeper cup and kept the dark tone but the sound wasn't as vibrant and live... not to mention the added depth of the cup wore out my lips much quicker... so I came across the Dennis Wick and they had claimed that they had the design just right... comfortable and rich sounding... I ordered a 1 A/L and 5mins out of the box I fell in love with it... the thin rim is extremely comfortable and the cup isn’t too deep... it has added mass in specific regions of the cup as well as a gold plated throat that gave me the darkest and most brilliant sound I have ever produced... this mouthpiece helps to make up for the flaws of the other manufacturers...I believe I have found my mouthpiece for life...
