Comments about Denis Wick Steven Mead Euphonium Mouthpiece in Gold:
As a developed Euphonium Professional, I love the SM2. This piece provides a mellow sound and allows me to work on my ranges on both ends. Most people consider a bigger play lower sound, which is correct, however I have noticed an increase in my upper range embouchure that when I return to my DW4, the range is increased like that of going from Tuba to trumpet. Overall, I have settled on the SM2 for everyday playing and genuinely satisfied with my sound. I have played on many mouthpieces over my 15+ years of performing, from Brian Bowman, Bach, Denis Wick, Schilke and others, and well, I LOVE this SM2 (gold plated) Denis Wick. I recommend this to any professional Euphonium Players that are curious and to all the Bass Trombonist out there. For the price and quality, this definately is the bang for your buck mouthpiece.
