ESP Standard Series Eclipse IIThis high-quality rocker has an uptown vibe with solid credentials as a hard hitter. Mahogany body with a carved top of quilted maple, set mahogany neck, 24-3/4" scale, 22 jumbo frets on a rosewood fingerboard with flag inlays, and a pair of hot EMG-81/EMG-60 active humbuckers. Gotoh Tune-o-matic-style bridge with stop tailpiece anchors the strings, while Gotoh locking tuners keep them cinched down and in-tune through heavy crunches and string-stretching leads. Simply put the guitar is the best I have ever picked up. Pictures do not do justice for how this guitar actually looks. It is absolutely beautiful! I do have a gripe though. The outlining of the top body sticks out and comes to some what of a dull edge. When you are playing chords your forearm hits this edge which gets quite annoying. I have gotten used to playing it though after about a month. The only other problem I have had is my E string has popped off the bridge in the middle of a set. I play with Not Even Slinky's which could be the reason since they are huge. All and all this guitar rocks and if you have the money I highly recommend it.
This guitar is typical ESP quality. They covered all the details on this guitar, putting more expensive guitar companies to shame. This guitar is very versatile. The neck pickup (EMG-60) produces beautiful cleans, and is also perfect for chugging rhythm lines. The bridge pup (EMG-81) is perfect for lead, with searing endless sustain. This beautiful guitar finish is flawless, and is also very difficult to scratch or dent. It sounded perfect through my Boogie Mark IV stack, but a bit too trebly through my Marshall JCM2000 DSL stack. I tried combining the Marshall head with the Boogie cab, and that also sounded great! If you're looking for a guitar that will be a keeper for the rest of you life, I highly recommend buying this!
Men, ESP rocks! This guitar is really something. I can't event point out a single drawback. The finish is beautiful (mine is Antique Cherry sunburst),sound ,sustain ,neck , balance ? everything is ideal. LP fans thought, may fell some lack in weight, but this is this guitar is about ? light, versatile and with a really mean voice(thanks to EMGs). I think for this price range, it is a best-buy value. I am not sure that I would prefer to have a Gibson LP Standard even for this price instead of this baby.
