The Boston Legacy piccolo has a sweet, dark tone that emanates from the density of Grenadilla and silver, producing the Emerson concept of sound. |

I started playing flute in the 5th grade and I play piano and clarinet. I wanted a piccolo and my parents bought me the Boston Legacy I have played many piccolos and I usually don’t like Emerson’s but this piccolo is worth every penny. Great tonal focus color and rich piccolo timbre GREAT INSTRUMENT.

I have been playing clarinet and bass clarinet since 4th grade. About 2 years ago, I decided I wanted to take up flute, and just this spring, I asked my parents for a piccolo, and I got the Boston Legacy. This is the best piccolo I have ever played on. The tuning on this piccolo is amazing, the high notes come out surprisingly well, but what is really odd; the low notes come out just as well! :-) I know a review from a freshman can seem maybe a little hard to believe, but trust me; this piccolo is worth your money!! It is a little pricey, but it is well worth it! I've played on Gemeinharts, and they are hard to keep in tune, they can't seem to decide whether they want to be sharp, flat, or in tune; I've played on Yamaha's, and they tend to give me a hard time with getting the high range out; then I've played the Emerson Boston Legacy, which has a lovely tone quality and excellent tuning.

This piccolo has a beautiful tone quality! Absolutely beautiful! It's mostly in tune with itself and is a wonderful piccolo with wonderful craftsmanship. The only thing I found that I did not like about this piccolo is the extreme high register. This piccolo cut out at High A. It plays High A wonderfully, but refuses to play High Bb, B, and C.
