warm and articulate

I put these heads on yesterday and played them for the first time on my jazz trip gig last night. I absolutely LOVE the way the J1's sound and feel. They have a wonderful, resonant, singing quality to them. I put them on the toms (top and bottom) of my custom-made Eames kit and the kit just opened up with a focused, articulate tonality. I also really like the stick rebound from these heads -- very natural. I will be replacing my snare batter head with a J1 next...the etched texture provides a very nice brush surface. Highly recommended!
