I got the 5-string version. I ordered it with a high C. Very nice bass, and convenient size. Plays and feels like any upright. Balance is different. One special bonus is that with the thinner body it’s much easier to play cello style. With the high C this was something I was looking for. As you'd expect, acoustic sound is thinner than a full depth upright, but I always played amplified and amplified it sounds great. It doesn't take much amplification to fill out the sound. It actually seems to get less feedback than other basses. The bass did come poorly packed. Internal packing was just chunks of loose fitting cardboard. The endpin was left out, and it pierced the bottom of the wood case, and subsequently bent in shipping. WWBW sent a replacement. Luckily this was the only shipping damage. The tailpiece cable broke on first tune-up. On contacting WWBW a replacement was sent that was much thicker. If you get the thin cable I'd suggest replacing it right away. The included bag is a full depth bag; it would nice to have a better fitting one. The bridge at the lowest adjustment is still too high for my taste; I plan to sand it down. The area around the tuners for changing strings is tight; an open design would be better. Finish is a little orange; it would nice if there were other finish options.
