Fox *CTX* Bassoon BocalsThe *CTX* Double Star Model is a thinner wall version of the *CVX* bocal, which is freer blowing with greater flexibility. Like the *CVX*, the *CTX* has a higher-pitched upper register and is more compatible with older bassoon designs, such as the Fox 240 and 220 models.

I would like to first thank WWBW for their prompt response and delivery plus the useful catalogs included with my bocal. I'm planning to keep my Renard 222 for future use and the jump from my CVX to the new *CTX* really made a big difference. I have tried a *CVX* too and the main difference between the *CTX* is that, the latter gives a more open tone, easier producing higher notes (but beware, the tuning does go sharper easily since you don't have that much resistance on your playing) and you could feel every note on your lips, the tuning's pretty stable. The best part is that, for the price on WWBW, this bocal is definitely worth it, definitely. I would have given this bocal a 5 star, if only the lower notes would project bigger, but I guess that's a bit too much to ask for isn't it? Well, I wouldn't say I regretted buying it though. Very satisfied. Gives me a reason to keep my old Renard 222. Thank you once again; my first online shopping experience was a good one.
