Fox Oboe Reed Case

I purchased the oboe reed case and I like the fact that the reeds are held in place by mandrels. The case is lined with a thick layer of blue velvet to protect the fragile tips. My only problem is that I wish the case was a tad shorther in length so I could store it in my oboe case. However, my oboe case cover has a generous pocket (see Barrington Oboe) in which to store accessories. At first, I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to let my reeds dry, but all I do is close the case until one end snaps shut, leaving the other end slightly open....still no harm to the reeds.. All in all, a nice plastic case and a reasonable price.

I was always using the little oboe reed cases that the reeds came in until I decided to purchase one of these. It's the perfect size, fits right inside my case. It also has a thick layer of velvet on the inside of it so that nothing happens to the reeds. Now that I finally have one, I know where all my reeds are and don't have to worry about them being squished or broken.

My reeds on my bassoon were getting wet and not drying fast enough so they would crumble, but now that I have this reed case, I notice that my sound on my bassoon has changed and sounds a lot better.
