I bought this head new 5 years ago. I've gigged with it indoors, outdoors, loud, soft, with 1 12" cab or 2 4x10" cabs - it sounds great. You might want the 1001RB for the very loudest metal gigs, but I've never had a single issue with it and it has enough buttons and knobs (but not too many) to get a variety of tones out of it. I am very happy with it.

I use this amp through a Hartke 410B XL Bass Cabinet and it is the best all purpose combination I've ever used. It is flexible yet easy to use. Regarless of what style of music you play this amp can handle it.I once loaned my system for use at the 2nd Annual Denton Blues Festival and every bassist except one used it and I received nothing but praise. This included the bassist for the late, great Little Milton.
