I got this flute for Christmas since my student flute ( a bundy) was going in the shop every other month. This flute is simply amazing the upper notes easily speaks and so while as the lower notes. This is an amazing flute but if you get this flute keep your student model for marching band or other band activities that has a lot of wear tear on instruments.
I love this flute so much, I call it my baby. My first flute is 43 years old, got steped on during marching band, so a key got bent, and things fall off. It was holding me back, and when I got this flute for Christmas, I got so much better. My private flute teacher keeps telling me that I got a really good flute. Its so nice!
My daughter played an Armstrong flute I got when I was in high school for the last 4 years. It served her well (after a complete overhaul and cleaning!) until she was a freshman and the need arose for a B foot flute. My niece is a high school band director and she directed us to Woodwind & Brasswind to make our purchase. The new flute arrived quickly just in time for her last concert of the year ~ literally 2 hours prior! She loves it and so does her band director... yesterday at band camp she caught him sneak playing it! He agrees, it is a beautiful flute with a beautiful tone!
I have been playing flute for four years. I had a Gemeinhardt student flute, but needed something more as I began to excel. I received this flute (with features: gold lip plate, in-line G, and b foot) as a birthday gift, and I absolutely love it. It plays beautifully, and I have not had one problem out of it. I recommend this to any student who is stepping up!
Before buying this, I read all the other reviews just to ensure that this flute was any good, and as told, this is an amazing flute! Its easy to play, the tone quality is beautiful, and the metal is much stronger and better than any of the student flutes! It did take a day to get used to, because my fingers weren't covering all the holes and that I've never owned an open-holed flute before. After all that, the tone sounded great! Overall, I think this is an excellent choice.
