This horn has brought me to the top in no time at all. It has the most beautiful tone that I have ever heard on a trombone. Playing on this horn is like playing on a piece of metal from heaven. The only problem I've had is the rusting on the rotor (but that was due to a seperate issue with my houses' ventalation system). The range is wonderfully high and low, and even the ugliest fundamental tones sound great. I would recommend this horn to everyone.
Well I am from Puerto Rico and I have a Getzen Eterna 1047f .to me the Getzen Eterna has the best sound for every type of music like salsa, jazz, boleros, and others (Latin), the thing that I like about the Getzen is its slide. The bell has a great sound and the perfect combination with the Getzen Eterna 1047f is the Denis Wick heritage model. I recommend every trombonist to buy it. Is the best of the best. Buy it now. You will be happy when you buy it and you play it. GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND AMERICA.
I live in Illinois, and I am a sophomore in high school. I play in a symphonic band and a jazz band, and I bought this trombone. This trombone is quite possible one of the best on the market, and definitely the best for its price. The F attatchment allows you to play C's in 1st position, and it also allows you to play low E natural all the way down to low B natural right above pedal B flat. The trombone sounds amazing for jazz and classical music, and is a perfect trombone for somebody wanting to get something other than a student trombone.
I just got this trombone recently and I thing it is great. Not that expensive and it has the best working slide I?ve ever experienced. I definitely recommend this trombone. Sounds Great!
I got a very early 1047FR for a Christmas present in 1994 (before they were tagged with the name "Eterna".) I set up a blind audition with it and a Bach 42BO, a King Silver Sonic, and a Canadian Brass horn (apparently also made by Getzen.) 12 years later, I've had the trigger mount resoldered once (goofy college marching band stunt) and that's all. This horn has done everything from symphonic playing, to marching band (TSU Sound of the South), to Lead jazz parts in HS, to Bass jazz parts in college. The sound can go from rich and focused to "Hey Cletus, your ears are bleeding." The slide feels smooth yet substantial. The trigger has the best feel of any trombone I've ever played, more of an even movement rather than the strange snap feel the bach has. To sum it up, buy this horn. You wont regret it.
