Giddings & Webster Euros Tenor Trombone MouthpieceSimilar to a Bach 5G with a more focused sound.

It does what the description says! It?s very easy to blend or cut whichever you need. Would go perfectly with a heavier than (new) 88HT horn, as it makes a pretty bright and cutting trombone more bright and cutting, may be due to the V-ish cup. The rim is narrower and flatter than a 5G. This is the perfect 1st trombone piece. IF you use the light Conn, I would recommend a slightly larger piece. The range is right there in the middle. Stainless has all of the benefit of projection (!) and a smoother feel. Check out GW's website for more info about stainless.
Like all G&W mp, I love its smooth, comfortable rim of stainless steel. As for playability, this mouthpiece takes much more air than a more standard size piece. However, the sound is thicker/denser than the 5GL I'm used to. When playing a long legato phrase with any volume, it just sucked the air right out of me. It was also more difficult to do any sort of double/triple tonguing with consistent accuracy. This is likely because of its very large throat I believe. Personally, I wouldn't recommend this for solo repertoire, but it sounded FANTASTIC when I used it in orchestra on the second part (playing Pictures - Ravel, and Roman Carnival - Berlioz). It's easy play through all registers with a great sound, but endurance and especially articulation are sacrificed.
