Great Lead Mouthpiece

Comments about Giddings & Webster Chubasco Jazz Trombone Mouthpiece:

This is a fantastic mouthpiece for a small-bore trombone. I use it for playing lead in the jazz orchestra and the high range is easy and sounds solid. Extremes of dynamic contrast are easy and you can really shoot out "laser-beams of hate" or keep it velvety smooth, but it's always a nice focused sound that doesn't spread (at least on my horn: LT12). I use a much larger symphonic horn and mouthpiece for the majority of my time, so it takes some control to have good accuracy (with quality sound) in the low range on this Chubasco. The notes pop right out, but the size limits how much slow air you can push through and makes flexibility in that register more challenging. In the upper register it feels VERY comfortable though!
