H.W. Brass Saver Cleaning BrushesBrass Saver brass cleaning brushes are a must for any brass player. Sediments that collect inside brass tubing can impede sound, playability and sanitation. The trumpet set includes the mouthpipe pull-thru brush and a double-ended stick brush for valve casings and tubing, designed to fit through the narrowest of mouthpipes. The versatile slide pull-thru brush fits even the third valve slide, and the valve and tubing brush is so rugged it gets in and really scrubs the tubing and valve casings. With the trombone set, you can clean out your entire trombone slide in one simple step. The larger slide brush will clean both the outer and tuning slides. The smaller mouthpipe brush is specially designed to fit the narrowing in the mouthpipe. The tuba set includes a mouthpipe pull-thru brush, a slide pull-thru brush, and a valve and tubing brush, which together make the ultimate cleaning system for the big job of keeping the big horn in great playing shape.

This is the best cleaning kit ever. I was able to push the lead down the bell, around the back crook, and through the connecting tubes between the valves, and out the 3rd valve slide, and pull it through. When was the last time you were able to clean those short tubes between the valves? (Of course it will depend on how the tubes between the valves line up, but it worked on my 'Strad). I like the fact that the lead is nylon, too, so you don't have to worry about scratching anything. The valve brush is nice, too, as it's big enough that you can get a good grip on it when you're using it, unlike the little wire/nylon brushes I was used to using. This kit makes all other cleaning products obsolete. I'm buying one for my son and my niece, too.
I ordered the H.W. trombone brush, which I think is a very good product and I recommend it highly. Be aware however that the description and picture of the product is incorrect. There is only one brush, even though there are two pictured and two brushes mentioned in the description. I alerted WWBW Customer Service, so hopefully they will make the correction on their web site.
This is a great idea, but the quality of the product needs to be improved. For example, one end of the double ended brush was not completely covered and left a sharp piece of plastic exposed.
I am so glad I discovered these easy-to-use and scratch-less brushes. They can be safely used to clean the valve casings (the straight rod), and the flexible brushes can turn the minutest corner of the valve slides. They will last forever and are worth every penny. I use the straight rod also to oil the inside of the valve casings as well. Be sure to let them all dry completely before putting away.
They say you can use them wet or dry,but when used dry, the valve casing brush will lock up your valves with the fibers that get caught on the valve guides. The snake for the lead and slide pipes work great.
