Stand is great, bag is awful

Comments about Hamilton KB90 Traveler II Portable Symphonic Music Stand and Bag:

I have no problems with the stand. I don't mind the knobs, and it's always been very sturdy for me. However, the bag is awful. It was cut so close that if a knob wasn't turned in a certain position, the bag won't close. The edges of the bag started fraying weeks ago, and yesterday the zipper for the base part of the stand broke off completely. Bottom line: good stand, but be prepared to need another bag.

Sturdy stand, but not mechanically sound

Comments about Hamilton KB90 Traveler II Portable Symphonic Music Stand and Bag:

I bought this stand after playing a concert in 35+ mph winds that destroyed my cheap wire stand. The stand itself is very sturdy, but mechanically it could use some improvements. It is hard to adjust the height and angle of the music shelf. I have also had trouble getting the legs to fold back up especially after longer time periods of use. I typically have to completely unscrew that piece to get the legs to fold. Overall, this stand is better than what I had, but I wish I had gone with a better brand.

Bad engineering.

Comments about Hamilton KB90 Traveler II Portable Symphonic Music Stand and Bag:

The square nut used in tightening is encased in plastic and when it breaks it can't be fixed. Should have been secured in metal.

Change in design

Comments about Hamilton KB90 Traveler II Portable Symphonic Music Stand and Bag:

Evidently, Hamilton changed to design of this stand. My five stars is for the previous version; no knobs to deal with, you just pull the stem up where you want it and it stays, tilt the music holder back where you want it and it stays - just like their standard non-portable version. I can see why the previous reviewer only gave it two stars for the "new and improved" model. The "new" part is correct; "improved?" Wrong!

Not a good trade off

Comments about Hamilton KB90 Traveler II Portable Symphonic Music Stand and Bag:

I purchased this stand for ease or transport. I don't find this advantage outweighs the disadvantages. There are too many moving parts that can and did come off. It's too difficult to adjust the height and angle during use. Pros: sturdy desk, good overall construstion, portable, carrying bag. Cons: too many knobs, (suggest cotter pins) hard to adjust, (pins or clutch?), the legs don't seem like they will stand up to a lot of use, parts fell off during assembly, carrying bag is too big/odd shape/and opens from the bottom.
