I've used a lot of stands in 40 years of playing music professionally and this one is the best. Strong, adaptable for ten or alto, 2 pegs, folds compactly. Well designed and manufactured. I've had mine about 3 years and it's as good as when I got it.

"Most definitely the strongest stand"

I've been using this stand for jazz festivals where I double with a flute. It's seriously an awesome stand. I never have to worry about it. it's extremely sturdy in that it would take someone to fall on it in order for the stand to fall. For the price its more than worth it! I used the flute/clarinet peg but honestly you can just throw a cloth over that peg and use it for a soprano sax for the woodwind players who don't want to buy the other peg.

This stand definitely feels solid and well constructed. The legs and bell support lock in such a way that they would never just collapse. It is very small when folded up, and feels lighter then my old Hamilton when you hold each in a hand. And yet, it feels way more sturdy stable then the Hamilton. I bought this after purchasing a Hercules Bari stand that I liked a lot. I have one major concern about the stand, though. When you place the horn on the stand, the main support that holds the horn has about an inch of forward and backward play in it. That makes me really nervous. Especially when you have people on a gig that have no appreciation for the delicateness of a 40 year old saxophone. I tried contacting the Hercules company through the contact form on their website to ask them if this was the intended design. I have received no response. None. Zero. Zilch. That's very poor customer service and makes me wonder if there is actually any presence in the U.S. other then sales. The contact form seems more interested in collecting your info then facilitating communication with the company. I have since spoken with 3 other owners of the same stand and it looks like they all have this. What would be an otherwise perfect sax stand gets dropped to 4 stars for that instability, and dropped again to 3 stars for the lack of company response. After 2 years of use, it has held up great and is still as good as new after being used on gigs 2-4 nights a week. I never heard back from their customer service, but there is still play in the the stand and I feel that my review is still accurate. But the stand is well built and I haven't had any tip-overs. It's really a shame that such a good stand has one glaring problem to it. It's rather enigmatic. I would probably buy another one if this one walked away after a gig ;-)

"Hercules Tenor Sax Stand"

For tenor sax this stand is unstable. Design of main support member has too much "play" causing the center of gravity to be well behind the supporting frame when the tenor is in the stand. Sax fell off stand. Perhaps I just got a faulty unit, but I could't use the stand anymore.
