The stand is wobbly, and I would not trust my YBS-62 to such a stand. It doesn't hold the Bari securely, and I wouldn't use this stand even if it was given to me.
It really doesn't matter what stand you use for alto or tenor. All hold the instrument securely and none are in danger of falling over. Bari stands are another matter entirely. The bari's center of gravity is higher and stresses out a stand. I've tried many and finally with the Hercules I don't have to worry any more that the guitar player is going to knock over my horn. When a product is so far above the competition as this, I have to sing its praises. Same with their bass clarinet stand. The best!
I have used others & Hercules is now my choice. This is an exceptional stand & very well made for the money. It secures my Bari perfectly with no reason to worry about collapsing or falling over between sets. Actually buying one for my Tenor now.
It is a heavy and clunky stand, but my main issue with it is that the post that holds the cradle slips and is not secure. That is it does not lock; there is a friction mechanism that does not work fully. Tonight at rehearsal I placed my bari in the cradle and it slipped down a bumped the bow, even though I had the "locking" mechanism for the post fully pressed in. Not recommended!
I researched many stands before deciding to select this one and I'm very pleased with it! The stand fits my Conn 12M perfectly and provides great support when the sax is placed in the cradle. Easy setup and break-down just adds icing to the cake! Keep up the great work.
